bert@uga.edu IBM mainframe upgrade scheduled for July 6, 12-hour downtime ATHENS, Ga.— After consultation with many campus units who utilize the IBM mainframe for student and administrative services, EITS has selected July 6 to perform an operating system upgrade. "The upgrade of the mainframe operating system is crucial to the continued excellent performance of the University's business operations and student information systems," said Jeff Teasley, director of EITS Systems Provisioning and Maintenance. "The new operating system will keep us in a supported environment while adding levels of increased functionality, which will aid in the provision of our processing needs and requirements for the mainframe." The upgrade will take place on the following schedule:
Start: 12 a.m. (midnight), Sunday, July 6 Human resource, financial, and student applications, including OASIS, which reside on the IBM mainframe will not be accessible during this downtime.
