EITS welcomes new director of Client Services, Shawn Ellis

ATHENS, Ga.— EITS—the University of Georgia's core information technology department —welcomes new Client Services director Shawn Ellis.

Ellis has a management and technical background in information technology, most notably in the areas of service and security management, setting corporate technology directions, and business development. His expertise in client services comes in part from his experience as a director in information technology at Raymond James Financial. While there, he was responsible for a large team of system administration, support, and security personnel supporting 15,000 Raymond James Financial Advisors and their clients.

As Client Services director, Ellis brings a commitment to excellence in service management and a desire to help EITS continue to create world-class support organization. "I'm excited to have the opportunity to contribute to the success of the core IT department of UGA," said Ellis. Ellis has responsibility over the EITS Help Desk, Student Technology Support, Instructional and Multimedia Application Support, Enterprise Application Support, Campus Information Technology Partnerships, Managed Software Distribution and Telephone Services.

EITS Client Services is dedicated to providing the highest quality customer service to all computer users on campus, while employing efficient and dependable operational methods toward achieving this goal.
