jclevela@uga.edu, 706-542-5005 Element K brings online technical training to UGA ATHENS, Ga.— A website encouraging UGA students to "release your inner geek" is available to introduce Element K to anyone wishing to enhance their computer and technical skills. Element K, a leading provider of online learning solutions, offers online training modules with the flexibility to learn about more than 100 topics, from elementary to advanced levels. A variety of topics are among the online learning opportunities, ranging from office productivity software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), web design, computer operating systems, and networking. "You can choose to learn whenever it is convenient for you. The online tutorials are self-paced, and you can repeat the course as often as you like," said Bert DeSimone, director of communications for UGA's Enterprise Information Technology Services. "There is plenty of hands-on interactive training with easy navigation tools, which simulate the actual application." Element K is available via the UGA portal (my.uga.edu) to UGA students, faculty, and staff. "Faculty members may want to visit the website innergeek.uga.edu to review the list of available Element K courses and assess whether any are appropriate for their students or for their own professional development," said Dr. Sherry Clouser, Coordinator of Instructional and Distance Technologies with the Center for Teaching and Learning.
