"Mr. Khan brings to this position a broad range of experience in higher education, information technology services, and systems and applications," said Dr. White, chief information officer and associate provost for UGA. "His participation in and understanding of institutional culture, policy, and administrative leadership will be of great benefit to ADDM, EITS, and the University at large." Khan has served in his current position at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, since August 2000. At Emory, he provided vision and leadership for the effective use of current and emerging technologies within Emory's academic, research, patient care, and public service missions. He was also a leader in the integration of information technology in the scholarly, research, and clinical environments at Emory. Khan spent 10 years at Dartmouth College, Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, NH, before coming to Emory. He was director of information technology at Dartmouth. More information on Khan's career and accomplishments are available as follows: http://www.eits.uga.edu/documents/cio/news/candidate-rehan-khan.pdf In his role as associate CIO for ADDM, Khan will provide leadership, in concert with the Office of the CIO, and management for the development, implementation, and support of applications for administrative computing requirements including, but not limited to, student, financial aid, human resources, research, faculty affairs, and financial management processes throughout the University of Georgia. His responsibilities will also include leadership and management for ongoing data integration initiatives to assure secure and authoritative access to decision-support data by University constituents. CIO White expressed her appreciation for the diligent work of the search committee and the assistance provided by the Human Resources Office, Executive and Faculty Search Group (EFSG). EFSG is an internal search firm supporting the University of Georgia. The firm, a division of UGA Human Resources, helps recruit qualified individuals and provides administrative services for searches; the firm also facilitates the search process.
