Getting Started

To access the UGA PAWS System, you will need a wireless device that supports the 802.11b or 802.11G protocols, a browser that supports SSL and can display images installed on your wireless device which allows you to see the PAWS login screen, and a UGA MyID login name and password.

UGA MyID and Password required for access

1. Before your computer can contact any machines outside of the PAWS network, you must first use a web browser to authenticate to the PAWS router. A valid University of Georgia MyID user ID and password is required to login to the PAWS network. You cannot obtain a UGA MyID using the PAWS gateway. To obtain a UGA MyID go to: http://www.uga.edu/myid/ from a computer in a campus computer lab (or any other non-wireless connection). After logging in, you may use your web browser or any other Internet enabled application as you normally would. Each time you connect your machine to the PAWS network, you will have to use a web browser to login before being allowed access beyond the PAWS login screen.

2. Forgot your MyID or password? If you have forgotten your MyID or your password, you cannot solve the problem via the PAWS gateway. You will have to use a computer in a campus computer lab (or any other non-wireless connection), to access the MyID Password Reset page: http://www.uga.edu/myid/cp-form.html or contact the EITS Helpdesk.

3. If you type an incorrect login and password three or more times, you must wait one minute before you can make another attempt.

Browser

You must use a browser that supports SSL and can display images. It may be useful before attempting to connect with PAWS to first empty your browser's cache.

Mozilla Firefox
