Using the MyDrive/MyWeb Web Interface

Please do not place web page files or content in your "www" folder until after August 14, 2006.

You can upload files to your Home@UGA directory, but files, folders, and images related to your web pages should be placed in the "www" folder, or they will not be viewable from the web.

MACINTOSH USERS - PLEASE NOTE: Most of the functionality of the web interface of MyDrive/MyWeb will not work with the default Macintosh browser, SafarI. We recommend that you download and install the latest version of Mozilla Firefox.

Log In and Navigate to your "www" Folder

To Log in, go to https://mydrive.uga.edu and click on "Log in to MyDrive." Enter your UGA MyID and Password in the pop-up login box.

At the top of the page you'll see the NetStorage logo with logout and text-view buttons. Below that on the left side of the page you'lll see the Folders heading with the folder NetStorage and Home@UGA. Click the plus sign next to the folder Home@UGA and the folder opens revealing your "www" folder.

When you click on the folder name in the left column, it opens, becomes the active folder, and it's contents are displayed in the window at right. Click on your "www" folder, and you'll see that the contents of that folder.

Migrated ARCHES users will see the files and folders that existed in their ARCHES public_html directory.

Uploading Files to MyDrive/MyWeb

Now you're ready to upload files and create folders that you may need for your web site. Remeber that all files associated with your web site should be in the "www" folder.

Uploading files to the "www" Folder

  1. From within the NetStorage window, from the pull-down menu select File-->Upload...
  2. The Upload File window opens, then click on BROWSE to navigate to the file on your local computer that you want to upload to MyDrive.
  3. Select the file to upload by double clicking on the file name, or select the file name and click OPEN.
  4. You're returned to the Upload File page, so now select UPLOAD.
  5. Result - the file is uploaded. Repeat this process for all of the files associated with your web site.

 

If you have created multiple folders with content for your website on your local computer, you'll need to duplicate that directory structore in your "www" folder. First create the folders, then upload content to those folders.

Creating a Folder on MyDrive

  1. To create a folder on MyDrive, from the pull-down menu select File--> New Folder
  2. Enter the folder name and click OK.
  3. Result, the folder is created on MyDrive.

Often when you change to view a different folder or directory, the display does not change.

Select View--> Refresh from the MyDrive/MyWeb menu to refresh the view of the current folder that you have selected.

Downloading Individual Files from MyDrive/MyWeb to Your Local Computer

You can download individual files from your MyWeb/MyDrive area for backup or editing on your local computer.

Downloading individual files to your local computer

  1. Navigate to, and select the radio button beside the file that you'd like to download.
  2. From within the NetStorage window, from the pull-down menu select File-->Download...
  3. You're prompted with an Open/Save Dialog box. Select "save to disk" navigate to the location on your local computer where you want to download and store the file.
  4. You can repeat this process for any individual files.
Downloading Multiple Files and Folders from MyDrive/MyWeb to Your Local Computer

You can download multiple files and folders from your MyWeb/MyDrive area for backup or editing on your local computer.

When you select multiple files and folders for download, MyDrive/MyWeb creates a ZIP archive of the files and folders and downloads that zip file.

Downloading multiple files and folders to your local computer

  1. Navigate to, and select the radio buttons beside the items that you'd like to download.
  2. From within the NetStorage window, from the pull-down menu select File-->Download...
  3. You're prompted with an Open/Save Dialog box. Select "save to disk" navigate to the location on your local computer where you want to download and store the file.
  4. Once the ZIP archive is downloaded, you can unZIP it on you local computer.
