Summary: MyWeb/MyDrive and Dreamweaver on Windows Computers

Dreamweaver on the PC will not connect to MyWeb/MyDrive through traditional means at your disposal within the Dreamweaver program.

First you must download and install WebDrive®.
WebDrive will allow you to connect to MyWeb/MyDrive using WebDav. When you're connected, your MyWeb/MyDrive area shows up as a shared or mounted drive. You will specify the "www" folder in your shared MyWeb/MyDrive area as the Remote Sever for your Dreamweaver site.

Download, install and configure WebDrive® for your Windows Machine. WebDrive Instructions (PDF)

After you've connected to your MyWeb/MyDrive area with WebDrive®, it will show up as a shared drive in your MY COMPUTER area.

You'll see it listed under NETWORK DRIVES as
myweb pages on 'WebDrive' (M:).

From within Dreamweaver you can then specify the "www" folder in your shared MyWeb/MyDrive area as the REMOTE FOLDER, and use Dreamweaver as normal.

Configure Dreamweaver to connect to MyWeb/MyDrive

1. From within Dreamweaver, select Site-->Edit Sites and either click on NEW to create a new site or EDIT to edit an existing site.

2. When the SITE DEFINITION window opens, select the ADVANCED tab.

  1. Under "Category", click on REMOTE INFO
  2. From the "Access" the default setting should be "Local/Network"
  3. Click on folder Icon next to the empty box indicating REMOTE FOLDER, and navigate to your mounted MyDrive area:
M:\Home@UGA\www\ and click OPEN. Finally, click SELECT after you've opened the "www" folder.

4. You're now back at the Site Definition window, and you should now see the Remote Folder path:

M:\Home@UGA\www\

This means that Dreamweaver will upload your site files to the "www" folder.

Click OK to close the window.

5. Each time that you need to update your website using Dreamweaver, you must first establish the WebDAV connection to MyDrive/MyWeb using WebDrive®.
