Emergency UGA tree server updates

The following table lists appropriate patches and the patch order, depending on the Directory Services level that the server is running. The patches can be found from:

• the EITS Novell Patches web page.
• the SITESOFT server. The DATA volume, Novell directory contains all updates and ISO images containing these updates. Everyone should have Read and File Scan rights to this directory.

Common questions during the update installations:

• JVM 1.31:
  This is a windows based install. Simply run the self-extracting archive, then run SETUP.EXE. You will have to have a drive mapped from windows to the server that you wish to install the JVM to. All other patches are installed through NWCONFIG.

• eDir 862 install:
  After running the initial install through NWCONFIG and rebooting, you are not done with the eDir 862 install. You will need to authenticate to finish the install. Next, you will be asked whether this is a Local or Remote install. If you are installing remotely, I.E. not physically at the machine, choose REMOTE INSTALL. Otherwise, the installer will launch a graphical install wizard through XWindows and it will wait for user interaction before finishing the install.

• 8.6.2SP3B:
  Upgrading from eDirectory 8.6.2 SP3 (v. 10350.12) to 8.6.2 SP3B (v. 10350.16) the installer will ask you if you want to ONLY COPY REMAINING FILES or COPY ALL FILES ALL OVER AGAIN or something to that effect. You have to choose COPY ALL FILES OVER. The two patches are close enough together that NWCONFIG things that the SP3B patch install is just your attempt to reinstall SP3 again.
